Who's here?

Question: Who are the people in our neighborhood? Who is in this class, how are they alike and different?
Task: Working in small groups, students create several questionaires for the class to complete, leading to several databases using Tabletop. Create a series of stack plots and Venn loop plots to display the data.
Analysis: What can we tell about each other? What surprised you? What else do you wish you knew?

Pumpkins 'n seeds

Question: Is there a relationship between the size of a pumpkin (apple, gourd, orange, grapefruit, pomagranet...) and the number of seeds it contains? What do you think and why?
Task: Estimate, measure, and record the the size, weight, and number of seeds of a given fruit or vegetable. Create a Tabletop database. Create a set of stack plots and Venn plots to show the results.
Analysis: Report and attempt to explain the results.

Please email me with your ideas and I'll post them here. Thanks!
