iPad 1 to 1: Key Questions

These questions are designed to help you think through your vision and expectations for the iPad program. Your answers depend on why you see happening down the road with your students and teachers. You must wrestle with and answer these questions before you start your planning.

Students

• Will each student "own" his or her unique iPad, or will the iPads be fungible and shared?
• What proportion of a student's schoolwork will be done on the iPad?
• How many hours will a student use the iPad during the school day? After school?

Teachers

• Which of the following will teachers be doing with their iPads, in what proportion?
• Presenting material in class
• Preparing assignments for students
• Reviewing and grading assignments from students
• Communicating with colleagues, students, and parents

• What proportion of a teacher's work will be done on the iPad?
• How many hours will a teacher use the iPad during the school day? After school?

Curriculum 

• Which of the following aspects of the curriculum do you expect to be accomplished on the iPads? At what proportion?
