The Forest
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…surrounds Crossett Hill Lodge. Walk, ski, mountain bike, or snowshoe out the back along the old logging road and along the trails in the woods<\/a>. Hike the Long Trail, climb Camel\u2019s Hump (the Lodge sits on its eastern slope), or just sit under a tree in the back yard. We have white pine, maple, ash, poplar, hemlock and cherry to choose from.

Heady Topper
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…and other beers with names such as Focal Banger<\/em> are brewed nearby at the Alchemist Brewery. Some people actually like the way these beers taste.

…make their ice cream a few miles away. Tour the factory, sample the flavors, and become a Chubby Hubby.

…is available at three scenic courses, total 54 holes, less than 15 minutes away: Sugarbush,<\/a> Blush Hill,<\/a> and Country Club of Vermont<\/a>. The mountain views from these courses are hard to find anywhere else in the world.

You will find plenty of winter activities here in our part of Vermont. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may rent a snowmobile<\/strong> in Stowe at https:\/\/www.snowmobilevermont.com\/stowe\/. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may find dog sledding<\/strong> at Umiak Outfitters at https:\/\/www.umiak.com\/dog-sled-tours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may go for a sleigh ride<\/strong> at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe or at Shelburne Farms https:\/\/shelburnefarms.org\/calendar\/horse-drawn-wagon-rides-0, or at Gentle Giants in Stowe https:\/\/stowecountryhomes.com\/all-stowe-activities-archive\/gentle-giants-sleigh-and-carriage-rides\/ <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And ice skating<\/strong> at the Ice Center in Waterbury https:\/\/www.icecenter.org <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right here at our house we have snowshoes, cross-country skis<\/strong>, and a trail through the forest, as well as sleds and toboggan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For indoor activities, there’s the Echo Museum<\/strong> in Burlington https:\/\/www.echovermont.org, as well as Ben & Jerry’s<\/strong> factory in Waterbury https:\/\/www.benjerry.com\/about-us\/factory-tours <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course skiing<\/strong>. Our children and grandchildren ski at nearby Bolton Valley, where they have lessons for young kids https:\/\/www.boltonvalley.com\/winter\/lessons-teams-guiding\/ski-and-snowboard-lessons\/
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A private trail behind the house<\/a>, and public trails in the Green Mountain National Forest will keep your legs in shape and your lungs clear. Camel\u2019s Hump State Park is just up the hill.
