Perfect location<\/strong>
It was the perfect location in the wonderful Vermont town of Duxbury .We came down to ski vermonts Sugarbush and it was a short 30 minutes drive from our place. Jim our host was so helpful and considerate to our accommodation needs, whatever questions we may have had Jim seemed to have had all the answers\u2026 even when my boyfriends truck slipped off the driveway of the air b&b, gave us some recommendations for a few towing company\u2019s local. His main priority was making sure he was okay and that his truck wasnt damaged, They even stopped in to personally make sure we were okay. Very very friendly if you are ever looking for a place to stay they will have no problem giving you the whole house\/ sugar house tour so you are fully comfortable and seated into your vacation getaway. All and all I would 100% book here again.

Fabulous<\/strong>
Our stay at the Terraces unit was fabulous! We wanted a snowy getaway for Christmas and this location was perfect! The house is ideal for a couple with the one private loft bedroom (has glass doors and nice curtains) and kids or family who can share the 4 single beds in the bunkroom. Jim and Kathi are excellent hosts and we were lucky enough to meet them during our stay. Jim loaned us a saw and allowed us to harvest a Christmas tree off his land and Kathi set out a stand and some ornaments, making the space feel perfectly cozy! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, lots of pots and pans to choose from. The woodstove was wonderful for relaxing in front of with a cup of coffee and watching the birds and chipmunks outside. The local area is full of fun things to do, all within an hour drive or so. Check out Bolton Valley for skiing, Blueberry Lake for x-country skiing and snowshoeing, and take a lovely hike up Camel’s Hump!

Very clean, very organized<\/strong>
We stayed with our four kids for a long weekend of skiing at Stowe. The Terraces apartment was perfect. Very clean, very organized, with a lovely common family room heated by a wood burning stove (wood pile just outside). The kids loved their bunk room and we loved our small ensuite bedroom. Jim and Kathi were incredibly welcoming and kind, and encourage our kids to use their sled collection in their excellently steep backyard! Jim called me on checkin day to make sure I had good instructions for getting to the house (it was raining heavily and he wanted to make sure I had no trouble with the road, but also reassured me that he could use his big car to rescue us!). Kathi made sure w we were well stocked in homemade cookies. I highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful<\/strong>
Jim\u2019s place was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived at the Sugarhouse unit, we felt welcomed and at ease. The studio was spotlessly clean, cozy, and exactly as described \u2014 thoughtfully laid out with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still only a short drive to Waterbury, restaurants, coffee shops, and other nearby attractions. It really felt like the best of both worlds \u2014 quiet and tucked away, but close enough to everything we wanted to explore. Jim was an outstanding host \u2014 incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, offered great recommendations, and made us feel truly welcome. We also really appreciated being able to use the EV charger \u2014 it made things so much more convenient for us and speaks to the level of care Jim puts into making his guests feel at home. All the amenities<\/strong>
Jim is one of the better hosts I\u2019ve encountered with AB&B. He checked in with us the day before our stay and again right after check in to make sure there weren\u2019t any issues. His communication was excellent. Directions were easy, instructions were clear, requests were more than manageable. Sugar House was a very small but very clean, cozy, and newly finished studio-type apartment for us to lay our heads. All the amenities and then some, however. Great for a couple\u2019s retreat if you\u2019re in the area doing other activities. If we were to be in the area once more we would definitely consider Jim again.

Cozy Cabin<\/strong>
The Sugarhouse unit gives a feeling of nice cozy cabin in the middle of the woods. The area around is very calm and beautiful (Not sure about weekends in peak season, we were there on weekdays during peak fall). There are beautiful trails right in the backyard. It is great value for money if you are there for leaf peeping. I would definitely stay there again.

Jim & Kathi were wonderful, we couldn’t ask for better hosts. We stayed in the Terraces for a week. On our first morning Jim and Kathi gave us some amazing recommendations. They did not steer us wrong. We had three adults and could have easily had 3 more. Two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room and full kitchen. We had room to hang out together and space when we needed time apart \ud83d\ude09. This is top on my lists of vacation homes. Everything was amazing!!!

The Surroundings are Stunning<\/strong>
The communications were straightforward and very efficient. We were attending an event at Moose Meadow Lodge and the location of Crosset Lodge could not have been better! Wonderful, easy, cozy, relaxing stay <\/strong>
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the 2024 solar eclipse and it was beautiful! only ~30-40 minutes from Burlington and a very quiet and peaceful area. There were other guests staying in the other properties on the premises but everyone was very respectful of each other and friendly! Jim was very helpful and gave us a guide to the unit, things to do, travel times, etc. The \u201cbefore you check out\u201d procedures were all very simple and the loft itself was very cozy and the perfect size for the two of us! We especially loved the clear views of the stars from our balcony and the heated towel rack and bath mat in the bathrooms, LOL! Overall a very wonderful, easy, cozy, relaxing stay all with a wonderful host! We would definitely return if we end up in the area again!

This was our second time staying at the Crossett Hill Lodge and it was another fantastic experience. Jim was extremely accommodating and responsive, and offers a lovely place for a fair price. The setting of the house is beautiful and peaceful – we didn’t explore the surrounding nature because our trip was focused on snowboarding, but you could take in the gorgeous Vermont scenery by just stepping out of the door. The inside of the place is thoughtfully decorated, clean, cozy, and has the ability to sleep quite a few people. Kudos to the host! We will be back!

We’ll be staying again<\/strong>
Our Christmas weekend at the Terraces was perfect! Jim and Kathi were way more than \u201csuperhosts\u201d as they went above and beyond to make our holiday festive! They provided a Christmas tree and homemade candy, and invited us to their hime our first evening there. The accommodations were much larger and cozier than the pictures depict. There was plenty of wood for the woodstove and all the amenities you could want or need (kitchen utensils, towels, games, etc.). The bed and couches were very comfortable, and the entire home immaculate. We enjoyed walking the trails on the property every day. It\u2019s a very short drive (about 5 minutes) to historic downtown Waterbury with lots of restaurants and shops. Waitsfield was about 15 minutes away. No doubt we will be staying in the Terraces again and again!

Secluded, peaceful lodge<\/strong>
My family and I enjoyed every minute we spent in this secluded, peaceful lodge. The furniture arrangement around the big fireplace set us up for an evening of banter and reminiscences we’ll treasure forever, and the big table was perfect for helping us to organize our excursions and play boardgames. The lighting was superb throughout, with dimmers judiciously clustered to make it easy to accommodate separate pursuits, like games, reading and conversations simultaneously. The decor enhanced our stay immensely. I’ll leave it to future guests to discover their own Lodge surprises, but a place which promts me to discuss celestial navigation, Rudyard Kipling, the tuning of mountain dulcimers, and how to decline Latin nouns with my kids in one evening is likely to be a smashing success for anyone! If the opportunity arises, we will come again! Note: Follow Jim’s well-written advice for lighting the fire. I’ve lit hundreds, but I learned something new this time and I’ll stick with it! Thanks!

This is our third stay at Crossett Lodge. It continues to be one of our favorite destinations in Vermont. Beautiful open floor plan. Spectacular views off the back deck. It was a pleasure to stay in Kathi and Jim’s home. Although we hadn’t realized it was their primary residence, we couldn’t have felt more at home while enjoying our time off the slopes of Mt Stowe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our vehicle got stuck on the icy hill leading up to the property on our way there, and Jim came down to assist us. Our stay in the loft unit at Crossett Hill lodge was fantastic! Jim and Kathi are the nicest hosts and were super helpful and responsive to any needs or questions. The house was clean & cozy, beds were comfy and shower pressure was excellent. The kitchen had all the necessities. There was even a chest filled with toys that our 7 year old really enjoyed. They have sleds and lots of other outdoor gear you can use for winter activities on the property. This is a great place for families to stay and it\u2019s in a safe area. Waterbury town center is conveniently nearby and has a handful of restaurants and a grocery store. We skied at Stowe and the drive was an easy 35 minutes. I would definitely stay here again!

We arrived after dark and drove up the long bumpy road, a little nervously, but the crossed skis on the tree very clearly marked the driveway to the house, and the motion detector turned on lights as we drove up. We were completely surprised by how amazing the house is inside — it looked great in the Vrbo listing, but is even nicer in reality. Completely well equipped, beautiful views on all sides, mattresses and pillows were comfy, we couldn’t have hoped for better in any way! The owner was easy to reach and made sure we had all we needed.

A Lovely Place<\/strong>
Jim & Kathi are just wonderful! We were able to meet them when renting their home. It is a lovely place! Be aware that you are just renting a portion of the home, but it’s still TONS better than a hotel. Especially for the price. Such a cute place! So convenient to the highway, shopping, restaurants, and activities. Plenty of space for four women who don’t pack lightly. Adequate kitchen supplies to cook several meals. We apprciated the “no shoes inside” rule (=clean), as well as access to the washer\/dryer and large refrigerator. The owners communicate well and even stopped by to welcome us. They left us a bottle of wine and personalized syrup to help us celebrate our 50th birthdays. Would definitely book again!

Jim helped us out with food supplies and muffins for breakfast. Stay was perfect! About 30-40 mins from the slopes, close to restaurants and bars and can easily house 4-5 people.

We had a lovely time staying at The Terraces. We were visiting friends in Waterbury, five minutes away, and did day trips to Burlington, Stowe, and Barre. It is a great location for quiet woods with close proximity to the neighboring towns. We had plenty of space to spread out with three adults and a four year old. Amenities were ample and hosts were kind and very accommodating.

We had such a great time staying at the Crossett Hill Lodge. Jim and Kathi were wonderful hosts, and the Terraces unit where we stayed was so cozy. Well appointed, spacious and clean, and with that wonderful cabin feel. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see the snow-covered mountain through the large window wall, and at night we lit the wood stove and played games with our kids. The kids loved sled riding down the hill and making a snow man in the yard \u2014 our only regret is that we didn\u2019t have time to stay longer! We will be back next winter for sure.

They were so kind and very welcoming while also being super respectful of our space while we were there. The house is truly a gem and is looks much better than in the pictures. It’s roomy, cozy, has everything you’ll need. The property is split into two units, the Loft and the Terraces. We stayed in the Terraces in June, while the lovely owners were in the Loft, and hardly heard any noise from them. The place stayed quite cool despite weather in the 90s. The owners were very responsive (replaced a shower rod in a few hours), gave great recommendations and are just the most interesting and genuinely lovely people you’d meet. The closest towns to get supplies and food are 10-15 minutes away, Waterbury and Waitsfield. Burlington (lake-side, biking trails, restaurants) is 30 minutes, while Stowe (covered bridges, biking trails, restaurants, breweries, Von Trapp) is 20 minutes away. It’s a great location if you were looking to be in the middle of the said towns. Would recommend this property and you should ask of the owner’s other properties in Elmore and France (near Bordeaux).

This was our first experience with an Airbnb and it was wonderful! Jim was very responsive right from the start and helped us through the process. The chalet was in a beautiful setting and Kathi was a great host. All the rooms were clean and cozy, and there was plenty of space for the three people in our family. It was great having a separate room in which to keep our hiking shoes and other outdoor equipment. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning one day.

Our family of five stayed on the bottom floor of this lodge in the forest of Duxbury. It is quiet and remote while being just five minutes from the interstate and tourist destinations. The house was clean and open. There were games and puzzles and kid-sized furniture. All the kids studied remotely for the week, and the internet was more than strong enough to handle three simultaneous video calls. Jim was very responsive. He provided clear instructions and offered us ideas for things to do during our stay. Highly recommend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were a family of seven with kids staying over for three days in the Loft area of the lodge. The Loft itself is a piece of art and comfortably accommodated us all. It had everything we could imagine and was our home away from home. It is also at a prime location near many famous attractions like Ben and Jerry\u2019s. All the attractions my family wanted to visit were quite near the lodge. Jim was available for all our questions and needs. He also gave us helpful suggestions on making the most of our trip when we planned our itinerary. In conclusion, it was a wonderful and relaxing trip for all my family members from the young to the old spanning from ages of two to sixty five years of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim has exceptional communication and he has a lovely home! It was charming, and warm; a perfect fit for a ski weekend! We also were able to see a few types of birds, including a woodpecker, in the bird feeder which was fun! The two sofa beds are chair futons that fold out into two single twin-sized beds which is to note if you are traveling with more than two couples. All the amenities were great!     Oh my we loved it! We had such a great time. Your home is beautiful, so well planned, decorated and organized. We took in some local dining at Blue Stone, walked the backyard trail and went into Burlington too for Friday evening of dinner and entertainment, then out to skiing Mt Ellen and Mt Lincoln on Sat. & Sun.
